AGES 5–9
KOKA KIDS
Where every judo journey begins.
Koka Kids is the perfect introduction to judo for children aged 5 to 9. Every session is packed with fun games, movement challenges, and judo fundamentals — all designed to build balance, coordination, and confidence in a safe, welcoming environment.
Children learn the core skills of judo through play: how to move, how to fall safely, and how to work with others. Alongside the physical skills, every session is guided by the Judo Code — our philosophy of respect, courage, courtesy, and friendship — values that go far beyond the mat.
The results speak for themselves. Children in this programme grow in confidence, improve their focus, develop resilience, and build friendships that last. Research consistently shows that judo at this age accelerates physical development, supports emotional wellbeing, and even improves concentration at school.
Koka Kids is not just a judo class. It is the best start you can give your child.
AGES 9–13
YUKO YOUTH
Where judo gets serious — and seriously exciting.
Yuko Youth is designed for children aged 9 to 13 who are ready to take their judo to the next level. Building on the Judo Code and core fundamentals, this programme introduces a stronger focus on the art of attack and defence — developing real judo technique in both standing work (tachi-waza) and groundwork (ne-waza).
Sessions are dynamic, challenging, and enormously rewarding. Young judoka learn to read an opponent, time their attacks, and apply technique with skill and confidence — all within the rules and spirit of judo. For those with competitive ambitions, Yuko Youth is the direct pathway into Ely Dojo’s proud competition tradition.
If your child is aged 9 to 13 and ready for a real challenge — Yuko Youth is where they belong.
AGES 14–19
SATELLITE YOUTH
Judo built for teenagers. Powerful, purposeful, and life-changing.
Satellite Youth is our dedicated programme for teenagers aged 14 to 19. At an age defined by pressure, distraction, and the search for identity, judo offers something genuinely different: real challenge, real achievement, and a real community.
Physically, the benefits are outstanding. Judo builds explosive strength, core stability, cardiovascular fitness, and body awareness in a way no gym programme can match. The dojo also provides something increasingly rare for this age group: a positive, screen-free community — a genuine tribe built on shared effort, mutual respect, and real friendship.
For those with competitive ambitions, Satellite Youth is the direct pathway into British Judo’s junior competition structure, with the potential to compete at area, national, and international level.
Whether your teenager wants to compete, get fit, build confidence, or simply find something worth showing up for — Satellite Youth is the answer.

ADULT JUDO
The best decision you will make for your body, your mind, and your social life.
Our Adult Judo classes are open to absolutely everyone. Complete beginners. Returning judoka. Intermediate practitioners. Cross-training athletes. Fitness seekers. Older adults. If you are an adult with a willingness to try — this class is for you.
There are no prerequisites and no minimum fitness level. Every adult starts by learning to fall safely, and from there the journey is entirely your own. You set the pace. We provide the coaching, the community, and the challenge.
Physically, judo is one of the most complete workouts available. A single session engages every major muscle group, burns 400–600 calories, and simultaneously develops strength, flexibility, cardiovascular fitness, and bone density. For athletes cross-training from other sports, judo’s focus on explosive movement, grip strength, and spatial awareness delivers results that the gym simply cannot replicate.
And then there is the community. The dojo is one of the few places where adults genuinely make new friends — built on shared effort, mutual respect, and the unique bond that comes from training together. Members regularly describe the dojo as one of the most positive parts of their week.
You do not need to be fit to start. You just need to start.
